Victoria and Albert Museum Doormat - Briar
SKU: V340
The repeating stylized rose motifs adorning this doormat are based on the Briar pattern, a 1901 wallpaper design by British architect-designer C.F.A. Voysey (1857–1941). Held in the V&A's collection, Briar encapsulates the designer's strong belief that 'less is more' and reflects the influence of William Morris' principles of pattern design and his use of plant forms as motifs.
